Dying To Dance

Chapter 9:

A little further into the forest, the duo came across a glistening patch of crystal clear water, steaming gently as the moon's glow danced upon its rippling surface. It was a tranquil hot spring perfectly situated under a cascading willow tree, its lush green leaves hanging like curtains over the water.

A while later, Lil sat perched next to the pool of warm water, scrubbing vigorously at the crimson stain on her dress, which she was still wearing. Several clothes, wet and dry, were strewn across the willow's thick branches next to her. Finally she gave up and got to her feet, eyeing Frazer apprehensively.
"Don't look," she warned, and began to undo the sopping dress, pulling it off completely. She dunked it in the water several times, draped it over the tree and jumped quickly into the hotspring, cheeks burning tomato red. It felt soothing on her icy skin and she let her mud-strewn hair fan out behind her. Finally she faced the vampire again, a suspicious smile upon her face. "I bet you looked."
"Still am..." he said with a smirk as he lay back against the smooth, stone bank at the opposite end of the small spring. He shrugged a shoulder and chuckled quietly. "Sorry," he added with a cheeky wink.
After a quick scrub to remove all the blood and filth from his body, the tired vampire shut his eyes and lay back, letting the hot water ease all the strain and tension from his toned body. Upon reopening them, they randomly fell upon his reflection and his features fell into a cold frown as the face of a murderer stared back at him distastefully. Turning away with a gruff sigh, Frazer rested his head on his arms and flexed his aching shoulders, the scars on his back shining dully under the pale moonlight. A low growl of satisfaction rumbled in his throat as he began to relax.
"I told you to wait for me..." he called softly over to Lillith after a while.
"I did," she murmured back, swishing a hand through the moon's reflection. "But you'd been ages and I was getting bored... And worried," she added, somewhat reluctantly.
Aaw, isn't this just lovely, cooed the demon, the barest edge of malice in his voice. But what'd be even nicer is if you just slipped off those little undies and...
THANKYOU, Luska!
she said hastily, glancing nervously up at the shirt-less vampire. Woop woop! he jeered, regardless. If he heard that, I'm gonna kill you... Lil threatened. Haha, good luck with that.
Frazer chuckled into his arms as he listened, half-heartedly, to their little argument. They didn't half go on. He smirked and shook his head. "It's nice of you to worry, doll face, but next time... I suggest you do as Jiminy Cricket here tells you to, and stay away."
He turned to face her with the slightest smirk as he rolled his shoulders and cracked his neck. "Or you might not be so lucky..."
Lillith picked up a handful of water and splashed it gently over her face.
"It had nothing to do with luck," she said quietly after a moment. "That was you- you chose to stop. And what if I hadn't've come, huh? How many others would you have k-" But she couldn't force the word out. Instead, she scooped up another handful of water and threw it lightly over Frazer's head.
Frazer grunted and instantly splashed some back.
"I wouldn't start if I were you," he warned, smearing away his matted, black fringe with a grin.
"Try me," she grinned back, and smacked her hand onto the surface of the small pool, splattering the boy.
He laughed and wiped his face with the back of his hand, his dampened hair clinging to his cheeks as he flashed her a you-asked-for-it smile. He quickly submerged himself underwater and hastily moved in for the attack, snaking his arm around her waist and pulling her under. He flashed her an underwater smirk and pinched her nose, giving it a wiggle before resurfacing.
Lillith's head broke the surface of the water and she gulped down a lungful of steamy air, laughing breathlessly, wiping the hair from her face.
"OK, OK, you win!" she chuckled, reaching for the edge of the pool to lean against then motioning for Frazer to join her. He waded over then lay back next to her. The angel stared, transfixed, at the pearly moon above, visible through the tree's long branches, lost in thought. "About earlier..." she muttered distractedly, and then paused, wondering whether or not to bring it up. "You scared me."
Little bit more than scared, sneered Luska, laughing as he reminisced.
"Yeah, I'm sorry..." he said softly, peering down at his reflection with a frown, "...but don't say I didn't warn you," he added. He turned his gaze skywards, the moon's eerie shine dancing in his frosty eyes as he sighed. "Once again, you didn't listen."
Lillith sighed, shaking her head. "I know. And once again, I'm not sorry." She smiled slightly, then covered her mouth with her hand as she yawned. "Don't l- Oh forget it," she mumbled, and heaved herself out of the warm water into the cold night air, trembling.

I'm sense a bit more flirtyness between the two of them. I'm going to continue on my way through another chapter.
